A raft of financial powers

Today's Guardian reported that ministers in Westminster and Cardiff have welcomed the UK Government's response to the Silk Commission as something that will "hand over a raft of financial powers to Wales".

Never has a description been quite so apt.

If they had implemented Silk's recommendations in full, Wales would have received something rather more useful.

Pointless tokenism from the two-faced tories. Without substantial financial powers powers the Welsh economy will go nowhere. We're up sh*t creek without a paddle.

Better what the tories are offering Wales that what labour have treated Wales over 100 years!

Eh? When Labour gave in and offered devolution the Tories were against. They just about campaigned for a yes vote in 2011, although the official Tory party was neutral. Neutral on an issue like that! But we do need the Tories to up their game and compete with Labour on devolution. It's better for Wales. They still can't quite bring themselves to give Wales real, usable powers. But it's a start?
