However, we obviously don't need any more in Wales.

Why should we export energy without charge, in the way we export water, (and in the not so distant past, coal and steel)? Our energy policy should be predicated on our own needs, and what we can profit from! Certainly pump storage schemes like Dinorwic, but also the potential of tidal impoundments schemes(Tidal lagoons) like the one proposed in Swansea , which can also be configured to store energy produced at times of low demand, and released to generate energy at times of high demand, as well as produce predictable energy themselves, could be a real earner.

Unfortunately, the proposer of the tidal lagoon - Tidal Electric (I have no commercial interest here!) could not even get to talk to Andrew Davies -who said 'They are asking for too much money!'

They weren't asking for any money it was fully funded by Rothchilds!, and the bond for decommissioning was in the plan! £2Bn! Davies was either lying or very ill informed. (I suspect a bit of both!) Jane Davidson has made similar silly remarks about it.

Anyway, back to my support for Nuclear Power. The thing about electricity generation is that it should be as near the point of demand as possible, because the transmission losses are significant, so why not build the next Nuclear generators, seeing how they are so safe, along the banks of the Thames? Plenty of water ( which is required for cooling and steam), and right where there is huge demand! Simple! Or am I missing something here?Siônnynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00021974709953206048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-985080357558043054.post-15027196388524621172010-04-19T14:19:47.769+01:002010-04-19T14:19:47.769+01:00Good luck with your anti-nuclear campaign in Wales...Good luck with your anti-nuclear campaign in Wales. We, at Tenner Films, are currently making a series of short films about nuclear power. You can see them all on our website: www.tennerfilms.comAbbyhttp://www.tennerfilms.comnoreply@blogger.com
