We deperately need some joined up thinking with a strategy that connects the High Speed 'International' lines (because the GWR is our link to Europe, not just London) - regional train networks - the commuter networks - and bus services.<br /><br />Because of our industrial past, we are lucky in already having an extensive network of railway routes which could be reopened at nominal expense - but we need to develop some grand schemes to join them up.<br /><br />The Ebbw Vale route is a classic example - this should be seen as part of a wider Gwent Metro - with new services running from Llanwern to Cardiff with new stations built every 2 km - and new housing and commercial developments built around the stations - not at motorway junctions.Pendduhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10244123496175993094noreply@blogger.com
